Wayne Gretzky's card number 54 was released as a promo. The only discernible difference between the two versions is that the foil on the promo is a brighter gold than the regular issue card. A special Wayne Gretzky 2500 point card was inserted one per case. This card is designed horizontally with die-cutting of the top corners. Wayne appears on a gold background with "2500" in block numbers on the front of the card.
This 195-card set is a parallel version of the regular issue. These were inserted at a rate of one per pack. They are distinguished by the die-cutting of the top and bottom right corners of the card, and the use of a silver instead of gold hologram. The numbering of the cards is consistent with the regular issue.
