The 1995-96 Finest set was issued in one series totaling 191 cards - 6-card hobby packs -. The players were featured across three themes: Finest Rookies, Finest Performers and Finest Defenders. Within those themes, cards were produced in different quantities: some players were common, some uncommon and some rare. The breakdown for the player selection of common (bronze), uncommon (silver) and rare (gold) cards was supposedly random with no consideration given to the status of each player in the set, although many of the gold cards did feature upper-echelon stars. Odds of finding an uncommon silver card were 1:4 packs, while golds were found 1:24 packs.
