NHL 1995/96 Parkhurst International - No. 357 - Gord Murphy

This two-series issue was produced by Parkhurst in Canada for release in eleven European countries. Interest in the cards, which featured NHL players and were licensed by both the NHL and NHLPA, was such that they became widely available throughout North America. The first series was produced in larger quantities than the second series, which by some estimates was limited to around 900 cases. Each box includes 48 14-card packs. The second series is notable for including the first card of Wayne Gretzky in a St. Louis Blues uniform. Two different players autographed cards for insertion in each series: Teemu Selanne and Mikael Renberg each signed 2,500 cards for series 1, while Martin Brodeur and Saku Koivu inked up 2,500 each for series 2. One jumbo Saku Koivu card was inserted in each series 2 box; autographed copies of this jumbo card were randomly inserted as well.
