The 1995-96 Select Certified set was issued in one series totaling 144 cards. The 6-card packs retailed for $4.99. The cards featured a smart, silver mirror finish, which was protected from routine scratching by a "Pinnacle Peel", which collectors could remove if they so desired. Although collectors are free to do so, cards without the foil may be slightly harder to resell, although they will be more sightly. The card stock was 24-point, double that of a normal card. Rookie Cards in this set include Daniel Alfredsson and Petr Sykora.
Randomly inserted in packs at a rate of 1:41, this 10-card set honors some of the league's top players, bestowing best-of-the-best honors with a Dufexed gold-foil design element. The presence of a Pavel Bure Gold Team sample card in the Promo set led to some softening of demand for the insert version of the card found in this set.
