NHl 1996 / 97 Pinnacle Fantasy - No FC 17 of 20 - Joe Sakic

This 20-card set was made available to attendees of the All-Star FanFest held in San Jose in January, 1997. The cards were distributed in three-card packs, and featured an action photo with a blue foil shark bite design along the top. A 21st card featuring Sharks netminder Kelly Hrudey was available through a redemption card which was randomly inserted in packs. The card had to be redeemed at a San Jose-area card shop. There were, in fact, two variations of the Hrudey card, the more difficult of which featured a refractor-like gloss. Collectors may also run across what appears to be a non-gloss parallel version of this set. The cards are smaller and are in playing card form, with black along the top and a uniform black back with a Pinnacle logo. These were used for a promotion at the show and were not licensed by the NHL or NHLPA.
