The 1997-98 Donruss set was issued in one series totaling 230 cards and distributed in 10-card packs. The fronts featured color action player photos. The backs carried player information.

Randomly inserted in packs, this 10-card set featured color action photos of the hottest young rookie prospects printed on a background with the letters "RR." A "Medalist" parallel was also created and printed on foil card stock accented with both gold foil and silver holographic foil treatments.
