The 1999-00 Black Diamond set was released as 120-card set comprised of 90 veteran cards and 30 Diamonds in the Rough cards, short printed and inserted at one in three packs, which feature future NHL stars. Player action shots are set against a card background where the middle 2/3 is silver foil and the top and bottom are colored to match the player's team colors. Black Diamond was packaged in 24-pack boxes with 6-card packs and was released as both hobby and retail.

Randomly inserted in packs at 1:4, this 20-card set showcases NHL's most collectible players on a foil card with laser-etched diamonds in the background.
